Review Of Ready Player One

This is Jraxens review of Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Ready Player One is a intense adventure type of book with many twists and turns. This book is about a teenager in a dystopian world where a video game simulation is a second, better life. The game creator put a easter egg into the game and the first to find it gets all of his money and power over the game. I feel like this book was just right for me.I personally chose this book because my brother and father both suggested it.

This book is set in both the real world, which was turned into a dystopian terror, and the OASIS. The OASIS is a virtual reality made by James Donnivan Halliday. It was made for people to have a life other than your real one. It consists of thousands of planets and world both player created and company created. Most of the planets that were coded by Halliday are based around 80's culture.

The main character is Wade Watts. He is a highschool, fat, acne encased boy who is a "nerd". He is obsessed with the egg hunt and is very knowledgable about James Halliday and the 80's. He spends all of his free time searching for the egg and learning about the 80's. Inside the OASIS Wade is a tall slim man with the username of Parzival. You can ask him any question about James Halliday or the 80's and he could almost certainly answer.

In the OASIS there is a hidden easter egg. This easter egg is hidden behind 3 gates that have 3 different keys. The easter egg was hidden in the games code by the clever James Halliday. There is a company that has devoted its existence to finding the egg and monetizing the OASIS. They hire thousands of people to search for the egg. They will stop at nothing to eliminate the competition. Some of these tries include homicide or deadly explosions.

I really enjoy this book because it relates to me in that I enjoy gaming. After I read this book I searched up a bunch of the referenced games on the internet and liked them! I recommend this book to six graders and up who like gaming. This book has many curse words and so I very much suggest readers discretion. Any questions?
